Anything Over 4 Is Pretty Good

Lately my lovely bride has been writing about choices, and priorities, and having a "bespoke" life.

And I'm thinking she's on to something, so I was trying to find a way to quantify it -- a rating system to see how well you're doing at tailoring your life to your preferences.

Here's what I've come up with.

Determining Your Bespokenness Quotient

1. Rate the pleasantness of your resting facial expression on a scale from 1 to 10 -- 10 being contagious cheerfulness and 1 a homicidal scowl.

2. Divide this rating by the number of times each day that you sigh and say "Oh, ...whatever."

3. From this quotient, subtract a point for every 10 minutes of your commute to work over 20 minutes. Add a point for every 10 minutes under 20.

4. Including restaurant trips, multiply by the average number of times each week that someone cooks dinner for you. If you enjoy cooking, multiply by times you get to cook for somebody else.

5. Divide by ten, then subtract a point for every day it's been since you talked to or emailed someone you love.

The result is your BQ.
