Alright, I know there will be people who disagree with me on this, but "The Flower That Drank The Moon" was the biggest pile of crap ever to flicker through a projector. It was stupid, and moronic, and pointless, and anybody who likes it is stupid too.

Grotesko43, I can't help feeling you must have missed something in TFTDTM. I've watched it seven times now, and each time I find more new and subtle elements of this heartbreakingly beautiful film. The scene where the grandfather climbs the tree for the last time, clutching the sack of ripe pomegranates? Breathtaking! I urge you to view this masterpiece again - you're missing out on a wonderful experience.

Whatever. This movie blows. The only people who like ridiculous *beep* like this are pretentious art school snobs with no connection to reality. How can you even call this a movie? There was no story, no plot, no reason to care about any of the characters, nothing! And the acting was just awful - like, the worst. This should be pulled off shelves to make sure nobody else ever makes the mistake of renting this gigantic waste of celluloid.

DewyIris, I understand completely. The Flower That Drank The Moon was an artful, moving, inspiring (and critically-acclaimed, I might add) creation that was criminally underappreciated by the majority of the moviegoing public, who I guess would rather line up to see the next mindless sequel based on a videogame. Let them watch their television and action-packed blockbusters. I just hope there's always a place for intellectual, thought-provoking cinema and those who truly appreciate it.

Agreed. I don't know why these brain-dead cretins are even allowed on this message forum.

Screw you. The only reason this movie got any good reviews is because critics have their heads just as far up their *beep* as the rest of you pathetic, latte-drinking pieces of *beep* Nobody else even saw it, because the studio knew it wasn't worth the paper the unsold tickets would have been printed on. All of you can go off and die somewhere, for all I care.

My goodness! Sounds like SOMEbody woke up on the wrong side of the trailer this morning! What's the matter, couldn't find the chewing tobacco that you keep on your nightstand?

Grotesko, I'm interested in the criticisms you voiced in your earlier post. What was it, specifically, that you found lacking in the acting in TFTDTM? Personally, I thought Sir Nathan Peachbein's portrayal of Ullrich was nuanced and humanizing - definitely Oscar-worthy.

Why do people even comment. They get all worked up for what? An opinion of a movie - to tell who? The person that loved/hated it?
It is crazy, but kind of addicting! Why is that.
Is it like arguing voyeurism?
I know. I always wonder what kind of person would go to such trouble just to slam someone else's creation - especially to an audience who's obviously interested in that creation.
I think some people just like to fight, and there are always jerks on both sides of those flame wars.
The ones who really lose out are those who genuinely want to discuss the film, which is ostensibly what the darned message boards are *for.*
And you're right; it is addicting reading these sprawling transcripts of other people's fights. Goodness knows why that is.
