Bikes We Likes
I've noticed that it's light out when I leave work now, which is nice, and I have decided to interpret this as a harbinger of Spring - that blessed season when birds chirp, flowers bud and a young man's fancy turns to motorcycles. At least, that's where *this* young man's fancy turns.
If my fancy does much more turning I'll have to put it on a swivel.
And that's the thing: which motorcycle is the fairest of them all? It's a very subjective question, I know, and each of us must face it individually. They're all beautiful in their own ways, you know, and picking a favorite is like choosing a single sunset to watch every evening for the rest of your life.
Personally, I've got it down to two - each vying for my affections equally persuasively. (A note: my affections are all that's at stake here. If I actually had the money to buy either of these, I wouldn't be sitting here wasting my time typing for you people.) They do cost about the same amount, though.
I'm just interested to hear opinions from a non-motorcycle-crazed audience. Penelope says she likes 'em both.
I think I've got a hunch what you'll say...

I know absolutely nothing about motorcycles except that you need to wear a helmet when you ride one (preferably a helmet with bunny ears) and that my neighbours across the street have very noisy ones which they never seem to actually ride anywhere... they just sit in the driveway and rev them for hours. I sometimes wonder if this is like the mating call of the suburban white male... although, indeed all this particular mating call seems to attract is other white suburban males and my ire.
All that said, I like the second one best. I think. The other one is kinda cool too, but it looks like a transformer toy. Hey wait! Can you fold it into something else? Like a bunny or a turtle or an Eames chair? Cuz then it would get my vote for sure.

The top one by a million trillion miles!
No way. Bottom one. The top one looks like Judge Dredd would ride it.
I don't like crouch rocket which is what I call the first one - after a while they are very uncomfortable to ride...the second looks like it could be a 'harley' which has a much better and safer repution for safty...also a better resale value if you ever want to upgrade it to the next level...my choice would be the american made harley!
I definitely like the first one more because it probably balances more easily and is more weightless because of the balancing factor. Also, cornering is much easier when something balances easily. I have driven both the crusier and the crotchrocket and my preference will always lie with the crotchrocket. Overall it just seems more fun when you drive it, kind of like a sports car that is a stick (crotchrocket) vs. a automatic (crusier). If it is comfort you are looking for, changing a seat will most likely take care of that. I have driven a crusier that was more uncomfortable than riding on a toothbrush. So, my opinion is the top bike (as long as Penny doesn't plan on riding on the back much).
