Fun Times With Mom

My Mom came down for the weekend, and we had a lot of fun.

We went to the Irmo Okra Strut parade , and saw Senators riding in go-carts and baton twirlers and boats used as floats and children with buckets on their heads...

And we visited my office so she could see where I spend my days, and we hung out by the pool so she could enjoy 80-degree afternoons in October, and we went to the American Apparel store where she politely kept quiet about them selling shirts for forty dollars that she could easily make for three...

We went to the Bi-Lo and bought ingredients to make a pot roast, which we then did (it was delicious)...

We went to the Liberty Tap Room in Columbia's Vista district, where she cracked us up telling stories about antagonizing used car salesmen...

...Even the lorikeets at the zoo seemed to like having her around.

Thanks, Mom, for coming and seeing our new city. You're welcome here whenever you like.

awww... looks like she had a wonderful visit. I can see your mom in you! And I love that your mom is cool enough to know the exactly appropriate expression and head tilt to adopt when posing as a big bellied dinosaur! And tell Pen that I think her haircut is just adorable! i don't think it's too short at all!!

What a lovely mum you have. :o) And you must be very organised to fit in all those fun things into the weekend.

That's not even the half, lorna! She also visited my work, took us to lunch, frolicked with our dog, toured the artsy section of town with us, shoe-shopped in the local mall and got stuck in authentic local traffic.

I place all the credit with her... Mom (or Mum) is a certified dynamo.

Colin-
I had a wonderful time with you guys, and I just printed off some of the pictures I took -- really grand, even if I do say so myself.

Thank you so much for being such a great host (and a great son)!

Love and hugs
Mom
